I have always found rather amusing all the efforts Pythagoras has put in trying to hide the flaws in his theory.

This is quite an old work. It surely is not perfect, not an emoticon, and too damn fast. If anyone thinks it's worth something, I'll fix it.
****NOTE***

I surprisingly got a DD! This was completely unexpected and probably undeserved, but I am incredibly thankful for it and for all your comments and fave's! Please excuse me for not thanking you personally, I'm very busy right now :(

As I posted in a comment, I have lost the original file shortly after uploading it here on DA, and honestly never thought about it much after that (did I mention all this was unexpected?), so I can't fix it anymore >.< Nor can I recall how many frames I used (but they were a lot). I'm sorry! :( But you can find the transcription of the dialogue at the bottom of this description.

Now a bit of history of science (I'm far from being an expert, so any correction is welcome): once upon a time, there were these really smart guys, the Greeks. They loved geometry and they were good at it. One of them, Pythagoras, was particularly keen on mathematics, and thought that the substrate of all the physical world was constituted by numbers, which he considered to be indivisible (much like nowadays quanta). So, according to him, integer numbers were the unit of measure of everything. Of course he knew that non-integer numbers existed, but he also knew that any other number could be written as the ratio of two appropriate integers (that was pretty much the only way a Greek could write a non-integer number, since they didn't have the decimal notation, nor arabic numerals - they used letters), so he was cool with that. He liked numbers so much he distinguished them by purity and even gender, and based a pseudo-religion on them. He also figured that for a right-angled triangle of sides a and b and hypotenuse c, (a^2) + (b^2) = (c^2). So, if your triangle has a = b = 1, c will equal the square root of 2. Everything was fine until a fellow pythagorean pointed out that the hypotenuse of such a triangle and its sides are non-commensurable, meaning that... they don't share the same unit of measure, the Holy Integer! Today we say that sqrt(2) is irrational, that is you can't possibily find a fraction that represents it. The most famous irrational number is of course pi.

However, this supposedly pissed Pythagora off quite a bit - there went his whole theory AND religion! - and he decided that nobody had to know! So he had the poor mathematician executed and threatened all the pythagoreans to stay quiet about it, or else.

The discovery of the irrationality of numbers was a big problem not only for Pythagoras: every Greek mathematician was taken aback, but luckily not all of them were psychopaths so they recovered from the bad news and kept on doing a great job. Fin!

***Dialogue transcription***

Pythagoras: ...So this proves that I'm incotrovertibly right. I own the TRUTH!!
Orange: Hey... he's right!
Green: Yeah.
Violet: Hu-uh.
Student: Master! Master! All our theories might be wrong! They don't work with sqrt(2)!
Orange: ...
Pythagoras: So. As I was saying-
Orange: What about the boy?
Pythagoras: Oh. Yeah. Well, uhm... *cough* Sad story. I'll send flowers. Anyway.
Violet: What about sqrt(2)?
Pythagoras: Ok, gentlemen, look in here please... Nothing of what you've heard or seen is real. It was caused by a lack of calcium in your blood. If you say anything to anybody about this, an army of angry hamsters will eat your flesh.
Violet: Ok.
Green: Cool.
Pythagoras: Goodday.
Violet: Hey... What was thath sqrt(2) again?
Pythagoras: Leave none alive.
Violet: Help...
